How to export and import OCEAN test results

OCEAN compatibility, mentoring, hiring, and team reports work by comparing two or more personality profiles. Each person takes the test on their own account, then shares a link so others can import the profile and generate reports.

Why you'd want to do this

Suppose you and your business partner both take the OCEAN test separately. You each have your own account with your own results. To generate a compatibility report, one of you shares their results page with the other. The other person imports it with one click, and now they have both profiles in their account ready for a report.

The same applies to teams: if five people take the test individually, the team leader can import all five profiles into their account to run a team dynamics report.

How to share your profile

1

Click "Share" on your dashboard

After taking the full 120-question test, go to your dashboard. You'll see a "Share" link next to each result. Click it to open the share dialog with your link, or use the Copy Link, WhatsApp, and X/Twitter buttons to send it directly.

2

Send the link

The share link looks like oceanpersonalitytest.com/results?id=.... Send it to whoever needs to import your profile. You can share it over email, text, WhatsApp, Slack, or any other channel. The link lets people view your domain scores but does not expose your raw answers, email, or account information.

How to import someone else's profile

1

Open the link they sent you

Click the share link. You'll see their personality profile with domain scores. If you're signed in, you'll see an "Import this profile" button. If you're not signed in, you'll be prompted to sign in or take the test first.

2

Click "Import this profile"

One click adds their profile to your account. The full 30-facet scores are computed server-side from their original answers so reports have the maximum detail available. After importing, you can add a name label from your dashboard to keep things organized.

3

Generate a report

Once you have two or more profiles in your account (yours plus imported ones), go to your dashboard and select a report type: compatibility, mentoring, hiring fit, or team dynamics. Select the profiles you want to compare and proceed to checkout.

Frequently asked questions

What can someone see when I share my link?

They can see your five domain scores (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism) as percentiles. They cannot see your 30 subfacet scores, your raw answers, your email address, or any other account information. The subfacet detail is only used server-side when generating reports.

Can someone use my share link to access my account?

No. The link lets people view your domain scores and import the profile into their own account. It cannot be used to sign in, view your dashboard, or modify anything in your account.

Do I need to unlock my extended profile before sharing?

No. Every full test result can be shared immediately. The $5 extended profile unlock lets you view your own 30 subfacet scores on your dashboard, but sharing and report generation work regardless of whether you've unlocked it.

Can the same link be imported by multiple people?

Yes. The share link can be used as many times as needed. Each person who imports it gets their own copy of the profile in their account.

Can I edit or delete an imported profile?

You can edit the name and email labels on your dashboard, but the scores cannot be changed. This ensures reports are based on the original test data. You can delete an imported profile from your dashboard at any time.
